Katelynn O’Brien, Artist

I am an artist, but I also work professionally as a software engineer at Boston Children's Hospital. I have a degree in Graphic Design and have spent my career happily working on web applications while also pursuing a life long passion for art and creativity in all its various forms.

I am a multidisciplinary artist. I enjoy the control and rich colors offered by soft pastels, and also enjoy working in a more experimental way with mixed media and collage. As a result, my style, materials, and subject matter vary. My soft pastel paintings lean toward realism with notes of impressionism, while my mixed media work is more playful.

I enjoy working with with natural materials like beeswax, and repurposing materials that have been discarded or are difficult to recycle (check out the Fleeting Moments on Disc series to see what I've been creating).
